Health and Safety

We are committed to ensuring that everyone who works with and for us returns home safely and healthy at the end of the working day.

All Health and Safety risks arising from our work activities are continually assessed, documented and briefed to all our staff by our competent Health and Safety specialist. We ensure all risks and hazards are eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level and all control measures are understood and implemented via close supervision on site and management staff undertaking unannounced site visits on a regular basis.

Our health and safety management system has been developed to comply with OHSAS 18001 to ensure the highest levels of occupational health and safety are maintained at all times.

RLP’s commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its employees and others has resulted in us achieving numerous health and safety accreditations, achieved via external audit to meet the exacting standards of Constructionline, Acclaim and Achilles UVDB to name but a few. We are also members of the Highways Electrical Registration Scheme which requires us to demonstrate individual employees Health, Safety and Competence abilities via the submission of portfolios for audit.

Our commitment to Health and Safety knowledge and application is fundamental to our business and as such we ensure all our employees have the appropriate competencies to deliver our services to customers safely and in accordance with legislation and industry standards and practices.

Our staff receive regular training throughout their employment including a comprehensive induction, external training, refresher training for existing competencies, site safety days held by clients and regular tool-box talks. We also ensure all our staff hold first aid and manual handling training competencies.

All our projects are planned, documented and delivered in accordance to the required health and safety standards, ensuring that all relevant requirements of CDM 2015 are adhered to as applicable to our works.
